Begin with three nights in St. Petersburg, then travel in daylight to western Lake Ladoga for three nights. Visit surface Ruskeala, a farm or a cultural venue, with time to rest. Spend the last night back in Petersburg, separating the long return journey from your international flight. Valaam, Kizhi and winter ice crossings are outside this programme.
Based on the published programme. Hotel changes mean changes of overnight base; hotel choice and the final daily schedule are confirmed in your quote.
Tell us the children's ages and any mobility needs of older guests. We agree rest breaks, walking limits and alternatives before booking.
Day 1
Arrive in St. Petersburg, private transfer and check-in. An optional short introduction leaves time to rest after the flight.
If conditions change: Late arrival means rest; no mandatory excursion is lost.
Day 2
One museum slot and a short city introduction with lunch and warm breaks. Return to the hotel when the family needs rest.
If conditions change: Reorder around closures; an indoor substitute and monetary terms must be agreed.
Day 3
One suburban palace, return to Petersburg and rest. Do not combine two distant palaces with an evening regional transfer.
If conditions change: An agreed indoor museum replaces an unavailable palace; short outdoor stops depend on weather.
Day 4
Travel by day to Sortavala or a western Ladoga base, stop for a warm lunch and settle in. Confirm the vehicle, stops and winter travel time.
If conditions change: Allow for road delays, shorten the introduction and keep the overnight base.
Day 5
A short surface visit at Ruskeala. The retro train is optional after tickets and the return transfer are confirmed; underground access has separate admission rules.
If conditions change: If paths are unsuitable, use an agreed indoor cultural visit. Do not treat underground access as a universal child-friendly replacement.
Day 6
A husky farm or cultural visit, shore views and rest. Sledding requires enough snow and supplier admission; crafts and the farm stand on their own.
If conditions change: Without snow, use the farm, museum and crafts. Agree the adjustment for any separately paid sledding before booking.
Day 7
Return to St. Petersburg and stay overnight in the city. Do not schedule an international departure on the long transfer day.
If conditions change: Keep the overnight buffer if the road is delayed; adjust the optional city time.
Day 8
Breakfast and a private airport transfer with a buffer. The last night is in St. Petersburg, separately from the opening three nights.
If conditions change: Adjust departure to the flight and road conditions; early breakfast needs hotel confirmation.
